This is a simple demonstration of how AJAX can be used to update the contents on the page. It uses the Accessible Rich Internet Application (ARIA) techniques to make it more usable with the Window-Eyes screen reader version 5.5 in Firefox 1.5 or later
AJAX can pair nicely with DHTML Accessibility technologies to allow easy navigation to updated content without losing the position in other components. Tab into the tree view and use the arrows to navigate. Use left/right to expand and contract the nodes. Up/down to move between them. Typing the first letter of a node will cycle through the nodes beginning with that letter. When content is updated, tab to the header for the content then tab back to the tree view to continue navigating.
Note that the only tree nodes with content are the Adelie, Chinstrap, and Gentoo penguins.
